Man Known as ‘El Jarocho’ Found Dead in Cancun Home

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man known as “El Jarocho” was found dead inside his home in Cancun’s Region 244 neighborhood on Friday morning, prompting a police response and a homicide investigation.

Authorities received an emergency call around 10:00 a.m. reporting the discovery. Police officers responded to a dirt road near Gastón Alegre López Avenue (Rancho Viejo) in the Colonia México area.

According to initial reports, family members found the victim, a man between 40 and 45 years old, unconscious and seated in a chair when they visited his home. Officers confirmed he showed no vital signs and had evident signs of violence.

Forensic experts and agents from the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office processed the scene. The body was transported to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy.

Preliminary information indicates the victim had multiple blows to the face, leading investigators to believe he was assaulted during the early hours of Friday.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine what happened and identify those responsible.
