TULUM — A man lost his life after being stabbed in the chest during a brawl between individuals in a state of intoxication, recorded on Monday night in this municipality.
According to witnesses, the victim attempted to flee from his aggressor after receiving the wound from a bladed weapon, but he barely managed to advance about ten meters before collapsing and dying on the spot.
Paramedics from the company RUM responded to the site; however, they could no longer save him, as the stab wound perforated his heart, causing an almost immediate death.
Elements of the State and Municipal Police cordoned off the area to preserve the scene, awaiting the arrival of the Investigative Police and Forensic Services, who arrived approximately 45 minutes later to carry out the corresponding procedures.
At the moment, the identity of the deceased has not been officially confirmed, and authorities have already initiated an investigation file to locate the whereabouts of the responsible party.
The area remained closed for several hours while forensic experts collected evidence and transported the body to the Forensic Medical Service for the legally required autopsy.
This event adds to other episodes of violence that have occurred in residential areas of Tulum, where authorities have reinforced nighttime surveillance operations in response to an increase in brawls and criminal incidents related to alcohol consumption.
