Man Flees Tulum Motel After Savage Beating, Drives for Help

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A severely injured man managed to flee a motel after being savagely beaten by two assailants. Despite suffering multiple injuries and significant blood loss, the victim drove several kilometers to the community of Muyil in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, where he sought help and was hospitalized.

Desperate Escape Amid Violent Attack

The incident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday at the "Mandala" motel, located along Federal Highway 307. Preliminary reports indicate that three men were inside one of the rooms when a violent altercation erupted. Two of the individuals allegedly attacked the third for reasons still under investigation by authorities.

In a desperate attempt to save his life, the victim reportedly entered a vehicle—believed to belong to one of his attackers—and broke through the room door before smashing the motel’s main gate to escape. Despite his grave injuries, he drove to Muyil, where paramedics treated him and transported him to Felipe Carrillo Puerto General Hospital. His condition was reported as critical.

Authorities Secure Crime Scene

Following the incident, officers from the Municipal Police, National Guard, Mexican Navy, and personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office cordoned off the motel. Investigators found evidence of a violent confrontation, including bloodstains, structural damage, and broken furniture, confirming the intensity of the assault.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the case. No arrests have been made so far, and multiple lines of inquiry are being pursued, including the possibility of a personal dispute or a targeted attack between those involved.
