Cancún, Mexico — Authorities in Cancún have arrested a man identified as Abel “N” for the alleged creation, distribution, and storage of child pornography. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office, the Aguascalientes Attorney General’s Office, the National Guard, and the U.S. National Security Investigation Attaché in Mexico.

Investigation and Arrest

The case originated from an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation of Children and Adolescents. A complaint filed by the National Guard’s Scientific Directorate revealed that an online user had amassed more than 1,500 files containing images and videos involving at least 1,839 minors.

Abel “N” was initially detained in Aguascalientes, where digital forensics, field investigations, and intelligence work confirmed his involvement. Prosecutors secured an arrest warrant from a judge, leading to his transfer to Cancún to face charges related to child exploitation and trafficking.

The suspect will remain in custody as authorities proceed with legal actions. A judge will determine his legal status in accordance with statutory deadlines.

The case underscores ongoing efforts by Mexican and international agencies to combat child exploitation networks.
