Cancún, Mexico — A man identified as Miguel Francisco N was arrested in the municipality of Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo, for his alleged involvement in human trafficking crimes involving child pornography. The arrest followed an investigation initiated from three international reports channeled by U.S. authorities to Mexico.
The case began with complaints issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which were authorized and shared by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). These reports were received by the Scientific Directorate of the National Guard, which began the corresponding inquiries.
How the Suspect Was Located
According to the investigation, the accused used a pseudonym, as well as email addresses and telephone numbers, to disseminate, store, produce, exchange, and share images and videos of child pornography through digital services. Based on this information, a control judge issued an arrest warrant that was executed by ministerial agents in Cancún.
The inquiries also established that the material was linked to an email allegedly used by the accused to upload and store files, via an internet connection located in Playa del Carmen.
Expert Reports and Findings in the Files
Expert reports conducted by specialists confirmed that part of the material corresponded to female individuals. Additionally, a forensic psychology analysis determined that the files showed minors, both girls and boys, performing acts of bodily exhibitionism and sexual character, as well as being victims of serious sexual assaults.
These findings reinforced the accusation against Miguel Francisco N, who was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority that requested him.
Ongoing Judicial Process
After his arrest, the accused was placed before a control judge, awaiting the determination of his legal status within the constitutional timeframe. The investigation continues with the aim of determining the extent of the network of contacts and possible accomplices linked to the dissemination of the illicit material.
The collaboration between the NCMEC, HSI, and the National Guard allowed for the follow-up of the complaints and the completion of the arrest on Mexican soil.
