Luxury Yacht Inferno at Yucalpetén Port

A luxury yacht was completely destroyed by fire on Monday at a commercial marina in the port of Yucalpetén. The blaze was reportedly caused by a short circuit as the yacht was preparing to set sail.

The occupants of the yacht were quickly evacuated while attempts were made to put out the fire using extinguishers. Unfortunately, the fire spread rapidly, necessitating the intervention of firefighters.

The marina was temporarily closed while firefighting operations were underway. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, with only material damages sustained. As the marina is privately owned, further details about the incident have been kept confidential.

This incident follows another recent yacht-related mishap at the same port. Just a few weeks ago, members of two families were injured when a yacht exploded shortly after refueling.
