Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The second edition of La Voz Puerto Aventuras came to a close Friday night with a grand final that celebrated local talent, community pride and a shared love of music.

The competition, organized by the Alcaldía de Puerto Aventuras and the Third Council Office, was created to give local singers of all ages an opportunity to perform before a live audience and professional judges. The semifinal was held July 3, followed by the grand final on July 10 at the Plaza Cívica in Puerto Aventuras.

The contest was divided into two age groups. The Children’s Category was open to singers ages 6 to 11, while the Open Category welcomed performers ages 12 and older. Soloists and duos were allowed to compete in any musical genre, provided their songs did not contain obscene lyrics. Performances were judged on intonation, rhythm, clarity and stage presence.

In the Open Category, Harold Rosario took first place, followed by Jared López in second and Francisco Osorio in third.

In the Children’s Category, Diana Álvarez won first place, Sharon Ibarra finished second and Roslyn Castro took third.

Each category offered cash prizes of 3,000 pesos for first place, 2,000 pesos for second and 1,000 pesos for third, along with additional surprise gifts.

The final drew family members, friends and community residents to the Plaza Cívica, where the audience cheered on the competitors through the evening. Organizers described the event as more than a singing contest, emphasizing its role in providing a public platform for local performers and encouraging participation in music and the arts.

La Voz Puerto Aventuras is still a relatively young event, but its return for a second edition suggests growing interest in community-based cultural programming beyond the area’s better-known tourism and entertainment offerings.

Organizers also thanked the sponsors, collaborators, volunteers and audience members who helped make the event possible, noting that the enthusiasm of the crowd was an important part of the competition’s success.

For Puerto Aventuras, the final offered a chance to celebrate some of the community’s emerging performers and recognize the work and courage involved in stepping onto a public stage.

And for the six winners, the evening ended with cash prizes, applause and, perhaps most importantly, the distinction of being named among the top voices of Puerto Aventuras in 2026.
