Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — In a joint operation, elements of the Grupo Centurión of the State Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), in coordination with the Mexican Navy (Semar), detained a man identified as Lázaro "N", an alleged participant in crimes Against Health, during surveillance patrols in the continental zone of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo.
According to the official report, the officers were conducting preventive patrols when they observed two men alongside a motorcycle exchanging small transparent plastic bags containing a substance similar to crystal meth.
Upon noticing the police presence, one of the subjects got on the motorcycle to flee, while the other ran into the undergrowth and was lost from sight. The uniformed officers, however, intercepted the first individual on the Punta Sam highway, in the direction of the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres hotel, directly in front of the Secrets Playa Blanca hotel, where the corresponding inspection was carried out.
During the search, the officers secured a fanny pack, 13 small bags with crystalline fragments possessing the characteristics of the narcotic known as crystal meth, a cellular phone, and an Italika FT150 motorcycle, black with green, with license plates from the state of Quintana Roo.
The detainee was identified as Lázaro "N". He was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Drug Dealing, where his legal situation will be determined in accordance with the corresponding investigations.
