Lane Change Causes Crash Between SUV and Public Transport Van in Playa del Carmen

Damaged public transport van and SUV after collision on Avenida 30 in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A collision between a private SUV and a public transport van on Avenida 30 left only material damage after one driver made an unsafe lane change, authorities said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Avenida 30 and Calle 64, in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood. According to initial reports, both vehicles were traveling northbound when the SUV attempted to merge into the right lane without proper caution, cutting into the van’s path.

The impact caused significant damage to the front of the van, including a detached bumper and broken headlights, while the SUV sustained minor damage.

Municipal traffic officers arrived at the scene to manage traffic and conduct an investigation. Since no injuries were reported, the drivers involved agreed to contact their insurance companies to reach a settlement and determine responsibility.
