Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Committed to the recovery of all public spaces in Isla Mujeres, municipal president Atenea Gomez Ricalde announced the upcoming opening of the dome in the Salina Grande neighborhood, scheduled for Monday, January 12 at 5:00 p.m.

The island mayor recalled that this dome was completely rebuilt after receiving no maintenance from past administrations.

“We are starting this 2026 with everything, with a lot of public works and fulfilling our promises to our people, which is why we are finalizing details to open this sports space that for many years had been forgotten and that we have recovered for our island girls, boys, and youth,” stated Atenea Gomez.

The municipal president recalled that the dome in the La Gloria neighborhood is also undergoing rehabilitation and will be reopened next week, with the goal of allowing island families to make use of it.

With these actions, the municipal government reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting sports, providing island families with dignified and quality sports spaces.
