Cancún, Quintana Roo — To strengthen the tourist attractions of the islands, the municipal governments of Isla Mujeres and Cozumel have rehabilitated four viewpoints.
In the first case, the Mar Turquesa viewpoint was inaugurated, a space that the municipal administration defended in its right of way and that now becomes an area for enjoyment.
“It is a new tourist attraction that strengthens Isla Mujeres and, at the same time, is an act of social justice. It is a space that we all defended and that will continue to belong to the islanders, because it is part of their identity,” reads a statement.
This new observation point allows for the safe and orderly appreciation of the beauty of the Caribbean Sea. The Mar Turquesa viewpoint integrates into the tourist corridor as a new attraction that diversifies the tourist offer and promotes orderly, sustainable, and environmentally respectful development.
Regarding Cozumel, the government is carrying out the rehabilitation of three viewpoints located on the east coast of the island, as well as the construction of four lifeguard towers.
The work consists of the rehabilitation of three viewpoints located on the eastern highway of the island: the first at Chumul beach, at kilometer 44+360; the second at Chen Río beach, kilometer 42+000; and the third at San Martín beach, at kilometer 40+800.
Also, the construction of four lifeguard towers, one at each viewpoint and one more at the bathing area known as Las Casitas.
