Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The "Inframundo Race 2025" athletic event was held with great enthusiasm and participation, successfully fusing sport, tradition, and culture as part of the Janal Pixan 2025 festivities in Playa del Carmen.
With the absolute backing of the government led by Mayor Estefanía Mercado, through the Municipal Sports Institute and in collaboration with Let’s Run, the competition brought together local and visiting runners. Starting at 6:30 in the morning, athletes of all ages and categories gathered at the Mario Villanueva Sports Unit to compete in the 5 and 10 kilometer distances, racing through the streets of downtown Playa del Carmen in an atmosphere full of energy and color, alluding to the Janal Pixan tradition.
