IEQROO Launches Contest for Official Slogan of 2027 Local Elections in Quintana Roo

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo (IEQROO) has opened a contest for residents to create the official slogan for the 2027 local elections, aiming to boost civic participation and democratic culture.

The initiative, led by the institute’s Social Communication Commission, seeks to involve citizens in the early stages of the electoral process by inviting them to submit original phrases that will serve as the institutional identity for next year’s elections.

IEQROO emphasized that democracy is strengthened not only on election day but also through participatory exercises that encourage active involvement in building a civic culture based on respect, inclusion, and shared responsibility.

Seeking a Slogan That Represents All of Quintana Roo

According to the contest rules, the goal is to find an original phrase that captures the democratic spirit of the state and will be used as the centerpiece of institutional voter outreach campaigns during the 2027 local electoral process.

The winning slogan will appear in informational materials, communication campaigns, official publications, and voter promotion strategies developed by IEQROO throughout the election cycle.

Proposals must convey values such as citizen participation, respect for the popular will, trust in institutions, legality, inclusion, and commitment to democracy.

The institute specified that entries must be completely original and maintain an institutional character, meaning they cannot contain partisan messages, references to candidates, political figures, or any expression that compromises the principles of impartiality and neutrality governing the electoral body.

Contest Open to All Citizens

IEQROO announced that the contest is open to all residents of Quintana Roo who wish to contribute their creativity to shape the identity of the upcoming electoral process.

Participants can consult the official rules to learn about evaluation criteria, participation requirements, proposal specifications, and the selection process for the winning slogan.

The institute noted that such exercises aim to bring the population closer to electoral institutions and encourage greater citizen involvement in stages prior to the elections.
