Cancún, Mexico — Hospiten Cancún has conducted a new edition of its annual mammogram donation program with the purpose of strengthening prevention and early detection of breast cancer in low-income women. On this occasion, 60 women in vulnerable situations received free studies thanks to the collaboration of the Rotary Club Cancún Bicentenario and the Fábrica de Artes y Oficios de Quintana Roo (FARO).
How the Mammograms Were Distributed
Of the 60 mammograms delivered:
- 30 were managed by the Rotary Club Cancún Bicentenario,
- and 30 by FARO Quintana Roo, an organization that works directly with highly marginalized communities.
Rotary Club Cancún Bicentenario: Personalized Follow-up
With more than 15 years of work in the region, the Rotary Club Cancún Bicentenario is part of an international network focused on health, education, and social support. In this campaign, the club conducted individual follow-up with each beneficiary through questionnaires designed to measure the program’s impact and improve future interventions.
FARO Quintana Roo Expands Coverage in Vulnerable Areas
For the second consecutive year, FARO Quintana Roo participated in this initiative, bringing preventive health services to women in Villas Otoch, one of the areas with the greatest social lag in Cancún. Their community work allowed them to identify priority cases and facilitate access to specialized studies.
A Health Program with Growing Impact
Since 2019, Hospiten Cancún’s annual mammogram program has sought to offer preventive studies to women in vulnerable situations. The partnership with the Rotary Club and FARO has allowed them to increase the number of beneficiaries and consolidate a community network focused on early detection of breast cancer.
