Hípico Riviera Maya Shines at Quintana Roo State Showjumping Championship Final

Paamul, Q. Roo — The 2025 Quintana Roo State Showjumping Championship (CESQROO) wrapped up its Grand Final on November 15 and 16 at El Refugio Country Club, bringing together riders from across the state for a weekend of high-level sport, tight competition, and plenty of emotion.

The event, officially known as the Campeonato Estatal de Salto Quintana Roo 2025, is held under the rules of the State Circuit (CESQROO) and the Federación Ecuestre Mexicana (FEM), with categories ranging from beginner cross-rails and 40 cm classes up to 1.30 m. Riders from Cancún, and across the Riviera Maya took part, many of them vying not only for state titles but also for coveted spots at the National Showjumping Championships in Queretaro next week.

Strong Results for Hípico Riviera Maya

Hípico Riviera Maya, located in Paamul, closed the state season on a high note, dominating podiums in several CESQROO championship divisions. According to results shared by the club representative, their riders secured state medals in five of eight contested categories:

  • 40 cm
    • 1st State Place – Lyla & The Mad Hatter
    • 3rd State Place – Danna Solís & Luminus
  • 60 cm
    • 1st State Place – Elea Pintado & Cubana
    • 4th State Place – Maia Marín & Luminus
  • 80 cm
    • 1st State Place – Scarlett N. & Marengo
    • 4th State Place – Elena Chable & Cubana
  • 90 cm
    • 1st State Place – Clemence Wirtz & Pacífico Azul LP
    • 2nd State Place – Elsa de M. & Edward
    • 4th State Place – Victoria Lang & Cometa
  • 1.20 m
    • 1st State Place – Zoe Iglesias & Inox
    • 3rd State Place – Rodrigo Torres. & H (Hickstead White x Arezzo VDL)

With podium finishes in five divisions, the Paamul-based club capped off a season in which more than 100 horse-and-rider combinations from multiple hípicos have been competing across nine dates of the CESQROO calendar.

Grand Final at El Refugio Country Club

The Grand Final, hosted at El Refugio Country Club, marked the conclusion of the 2025 state circuit. Over two days of competition, riders tackled demanding courses designed to test rhythm, accuracy, and partnership between horse and rider. The event also served as a showcase for the growth of equestrian sport in Quintana Roo, where showjumping continues to gain followers among children, youth, and adults.

Organizers highlighted the high standard of riding and the strong turnout from clubs across the state, noting that the final in El Refugio crowned not only weekend winners but also the accumulated state champions for each height and division.

On to the National Championships

For several Hípico Riviera Maya riders, the state championship results were more than just medals: they were a springboard to the 2025 National Showjumping Championships, where they will represent Quintana Roo against the country’s best.

According to the club, the following binomios have qualified to compete at Nationals:

  • Caballos de 6 años (Six-Year-Old Horses)

  • Preinfantil – 90 cm
    • Victoria Lang & Cometa
    • Victoria Lang & Riskal
  • Mininfantil – 75 cm
    • Valentina Rosa & Dolly
  • Preliminar A – 1.00 m
    • Mara Wills & Nylah
  • Debutantes A – 90 cm
    • Clemence Wirtz & Pacífico Azul LP

The 2025 National Showjumping Championship Competition and the CSI2* & CSI3* International Showjumping Competition, which will be held from November 26 to 30 and December 3 to 7 at the El Marqués / Viñedos del Polo facilities in Queretaro.

A Growing Equestrian Culture in Quintana Roo

The 2025 CESQROO season has confirmed that Quintana Roo’s equestrian community is maturing rapidly. With a structured state circuit compliant with FEI/FEM, rules young riders in the region now have a clear pathway from local schooling shows to state titles and on to national-level competition.

For Hípico Riviera Maya, a strong performance at the Grand Final and a sizable delegation heading to Nationals are both a reward and a responsibility. The club says its focus for the coming days is simple: keep the horses healthy, the riders prepared, and represent Quintana Roo with the same sportsmanship and determination that defined this year’s state circuit.
