The globally recognized Hard Rock Cafe is set to host its signature event, "Rock'n Box", at its Riviera Maya hotel in Quintana Roo. The event, which blends music and sports, is slated for Saturday, December 7th at 7 pm. The highlight of the evening will be an eight-round Bantamweight division fight between Cancun's Eric "Pitbull" Gamboa and Jalisco's Ernesto "Temible" Garcia.
A press conference was held on Thursday, just hours before the weigh-in ceremony. Gilberto Gómez Martínez, the Mayor of Puerto Aventuras, expressed gratitude to the event organizers for bringing such large-scale events to the region. Patricia Fajardo, a promoter for TM Boxing, and Alberto López, General Director of the Municipal Institute of Sport in Solidaridad (IMDS), were among the attendees at the press meeting.
The event will feature a total of nine matches. The doors of the host hotel's convention center will open at 6:30 pm, with the live television broadcast kicking off at 9 pm on Channel 6 of Multimedios. Eric Ibarra of TM Boxing highlighted the importance of partnerships with local businesses and government in building a successful event.
Ibarra assured that, as with previous events in Solidaridad, this one will be of high quality. Boxing commentators for the event will include Jackie "Aztec Warrior" Nava, Rafael Marquez, and Eduardo "Lalo" Camarena. The fight card has been endorsed by Dr. Mario Abarca, president of the Boxing, Wrestling, and Mixed Martial Arts Commission in Solidaridad.
