Gunmen Attack Bar in Playa del Carmen, Wounding One
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on a bar in downtown Playa del Carmen late Saturday, wounding one person and sparking panic among patrons and nearby residents.
The attack occurred at Bar El Antídoto, formerly known as La Pandemia, located on Avenida 30 between Juárez and Calle 1 Sur. Witnesses reported that two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple rounds into the establishment before fleeing.
Police found more than 15 spent shell casings at the scene, along with bullet damage to the bar’s facade and surrounding structures. Paramedics treated one gunshot victim at the scene before transporting him to a hospital. Officials described his condition as stable.
Municipal police, National Guard officers, and state investigators responded to the scene, cordoning off the area and collecting ballistic evidence. No arrests have been reported.
