Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A man who rented tables, chairs, and inflatable games lost his life after being attacked with a firearm when he went to deliver the materials to a residence in the Villas Riviera neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Del Carmen Avenue, at the corner of Río Japura Street, when neighbors called the emergency number 911 after hearing a gunshot and seeing a man seriously injured.
According to initial reports, the victim was shot in the face, causing severe bleeding. Paramedics and police officers arrived at the scene, but the man had already died minutes after the attack.
Witnesses indicated that the deceased had been hired to deliver furniture and inflatables to a residence; however, upon arrival at the site, an argument arose with the client, allegedly due to disagreements over the previously agreed price. When the victim refused to remove the materials, the client pulled out a firearm and shot him.
After the attack, the aggressor fled the scene and managed to escape. The State Attorney General’s Office took note of the events, conducted the body removal, and secured evidence to compile the corresponding investigation file and locate the responsible party.
