The Meraki Cozumel Civil Association has opened a medical dispensary to aid cancer patients on the island. This dispensary will provide specialized medications, including chemotherapeutic drugs in both oral and injectable forms, to patients associated with the organization at no cost. A range of general medicine products for common illnesses such as colds are also available.
The president of the association, Gabriela Tun Chan, stated that the medicines are generously donated by medical institutions and community members. Their goal is to assist all cancer patients, regardless of whether they are registered with the organization or not. It was also noted that Meraki Cozumel provides support from local doctors and educational talks for those who need them.
