Cozumel. The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) invites the community to the inauguration of the final pictorial and object art exhibition “GraCtitud” by artist Addy Bacelis, which will take place on Saturday, December 6, at 20:00 hours, at the Museum of the Island. Admission will be completely free.
The director of the Museum of the Island, Isela Carrillo Cupul, reported that this exhibition marks the closure of a ten-year creative cycle, during which the artist has annually presented collections inspired by the nature, colors, and essence of Cozumel, adding that the public will be able to enjoy a mature artistic proposal, deeply emotional and with a style that has transcended borders, reaching private collections on five continents.
She added that “GraCtitud” invites one to pause, reflect, and give thanks, while closing an artistic process that began in 2016, in which Addy Bacelis has explored color, light, the senses, introspection, and the beauty of the island, through the exhibitions “Alegría,” “Misterio de Color” (2017), “Vino tinto, vino blanco” (2018), “Ventanas al rincón” (2019), “Reflejos” (2020), “Fantasías del Caribe” (2021), “Virtud de Cozumel” (2022), “Floreciendo en Cozumel” (2023), “AmaNacer” (2024) and now “GraCtitud,” with which she has built her own visual universe where nature becomes teacher, refuge, and inspiration.
For her part, the general director of the FPMC, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, highlighted that this exhibition adds to the institutional commitment to promote local talent and strengthen access to culture, in alignment with the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, which promotes dignified and free spaces for the enjoyment of art.
Finally, she reaffirmed the invitation to the citizenry to accompany the artist in this closure of her ten-year creative cycle and celebrate together the value of art made in Cozumel. The cultural evening will take place on Saturday, December 6, at 20:00 hours, at the museum center.
