Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A foreign man was found deceased inside an apartment of the Kuxtal complex, located in the Zazil-Ha neighborhood in the tourist zone of Playa del Carmen. Initial reports indicate the cause of death may have been a drug overdose, though authorities will confirm the motive following corresponding forensic analysis.

The discovery occurred when neighbors of the Kuxtal building, situated on 40th Street between 5th Avenue and 5th Diagonal, reported to the emergency number that a man was unconscious inside his apartment, numbered 301.

Paramedics from ERUM arrived at the location and, upon entering, found the male, approximately 38 years old, lying on the floor. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, they confirmed he no longer showed vital signs.

Municipal Police officers cordoned off the area while agents from the State Attorney General's Office began the requisite investigative procedures. Preliminarily, it was reported that the deceased was a foreign national, though his identity and nationality have not been revealed at this time.

Sources close to the case mentioned that among his belongings, substances and objects that could be related to drug consumption were found, leading to the opening of an investigation file for a possible overdose.

The Forensic and Forensic Science Services of the FGR carried out the removal of the body to transport it to the Forensic Medical Service for the legally required autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death.
