Tulum, Quintana Roo — A total of five individuals, including a teenager, were detained in flagrante delicto in the municipality of Tulum for their alleged involvement in drug-related crimes, specifically small-scale drug dealing.
The arrest was the result of a coordinated operation between the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA), and the Municipal Police.
According to the issued statement, the detainees are Ana Dalay “N”, Mauricio de Jesús “N”, Emanuel “N”, and Jesús Guillermo “N”, in addition to a minor whose identity remains confidential.
The events occurred on Beta Sur Street, in the Centro neighborhood of the municipality, in the area between Andrómeda Oriente and Sol Oriente.
Officers achieved the capture after observing the individuals exchanging what appeared to be narcotics.
Following inspection, various doses of substances were secured, including green and dry plant material similar to marijuana, white powder with characteristics of cocaine, and beige solid fragments resembling “crack”.
The State Attorney General’s Office emphasized that initial lines of investigation suggest the five individuals may have links to a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to small-scale drug dealing in the area.
The detainees and the seized drugs have been placed at the disposal of the competent authorities so that, within the established legal term, their legal status can be determined.
