Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A fire last night consumed a large portion of the objects inside an office belonging to the company Bachoco, located on a dirt road near the Palomar beach area on the south side of the city.
The incident was reported around 9:00 p.m., which immediately mobilized units from the Heroic Fire Department, who arrived aboard a water tanker to begin mitigation work. Upon arrival, the firefighters found a warehouse with an office completely engulfed in flames and began firefighting efforts immediately.
The firefighters successfully cut the lines of propagation and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas of the building. The incident left no injured persons, and only material damage was recorded inside the office.
Despite the lack of injuries, the event was dramatic, as large columns of smoke could be seen emanating from the location.
At this time, the exact causes of the fire are unknown, though an electrical short circuit in the system has not been ruled out.
