A tragic accident occurred on the El Tintal highway, roughly 200 meters from the toll booth leading into Playa del Carmen. A motorcyclist lost his life after colliding with the rear of a trailer.
The accident involved a rear-end collision, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist. According to authorities at the scene, the trailer was particularly large, as it was carrying a pilot truck in addition to other machinery. It's unclear why the motorcyclist crashed into the rear of the trailer, but it appears both vehicles were in motion at the time of the accident.
Upon impact, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the asphalt. The motorcycle's front tire was subsequently crushed by one of the trailer's tires, dragging the motorcyclist several meters. Tragically, the motorcyclist did not survive the accident, and his remains were scattered across the highway.
Agents from the Public Prosecutor's Office, assigned to the General Prosecutor's Office of the State of Quintana Roo, arrived at the scene. They coordinated with forensic services to recover the body and secure the involved vehicles for further investigation. At the time of reporting, no arrests had been made, as the trailer was found abandoned at the scene.
