A motorcyclist tragically lost his life and his fellow rider was severely injured after they fell into a pothole under the Maya Train bridge. The incident occurred in the Villas del Sol neighborhood around 7 a.m., as the two motorcyclists were traveling east on De los Gansos Avenue.
The driver reportedly did not see the pothole, which was obscured by a puddle. Witnesses reported that both riders were thrown onto the asphalt, resulting in the death of one and serious injury to the other.
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The paramedics confirmed the death of one motorcyclist and transported the other to a local hospital.
Residents of the area have repeatedly reported the dangerous pothole to authorities. This is not the first time motorcyclists have been involved in accidents at this location due to the obscured pothole.
Forensic experts from the State Prosecutor's Office were dispatched to the scene to transport the deceased to the Forensic Medical Service.
