“Prepare for Tren Maya Impact: Entrepreneurs Must Train Now!”

Entrepreneurs are being encouraged to invest in staff training in preparation for the changes that will accompany the completion of the Tren Maya project.

The Tren Maya project, set to be completed in 2025, is expected to bring about significant shifts in various industries. José Antonio Bahena Cuevas, president of the National Chamber of Industry (Canacintra) in Playa del Carmen, has emphasized the importance of preparing for these changes.

While the Tren Maya project has already stimulated economic growth and increased employment, Bahena Cuevas warns that this is temporary. He predicts that the situation will change once the project is completed next year.

Bahena Cuevas advises the business sector not to become complacent. He recommends continuous training and encourages businesses to join industry chambers and collegiate bodies. He believes that future economic development will depend on the proactive efforts of entrepreneurs.

The construction sector has seen the most growth, along with technical services such as installation, air conditioning, and mechanics. Information technology sectors, including optical fibers, communications, and computing, have also expanded significantly, as has provisioning.

Bahena Cuevas also noted a strong increase in the textile industry, particularly in the production of sheets and towels. While this may seem insignificant, he points out the importance of these items in the region's numerous hotel rooms.

Bahena Cuevas remains confident about the region's growth potential. He asserts that investing in the southeast of Mexico, particularly in Quintana Roo or Yucatán, guarantees a return on investment. He also anticipates a strong influx of outside investments.
