Ultimate Safety at Cozumel Carnival 2025 – Plan Unveiled!

The 151st edition of the Cozumel Carnival in 2025 is set to be the safest yet. This assurance comes from Quintana Roo's Secretary of Citizen Security, Julio César Gómez Torres. He has announced plans to increase security personnel at all events, both open and closed. This includes the traditional parades of allegorical floats along the island's promenade.

The main goal is to ensure the safety and peace of mind of all attendees. To achieve this, the Secretary of Citizen Security is working closely with the municipal police of Cozumel to implement special surveillance measures. State police will also be added to the existing 189 municipal police officers assigned to protect the festivities. Despite Cozumel being one of the tourist destinations with the lowest crime rates, security will not be compromised. The exact number of additional personnel to be deployed at high-traffic events will be determined in collaboration with the municipal president, José Luis Chacón Méndez, and the director of Public Security, Fernando González Felipe.

Gómez Torres also underscored the crucial role of citizen involvement in bolstering security. Neighborhood committees and the reporting of suspicious activities are vital for crime prevention, enabling authorities to respond more effectively. The collaboration between the three tiers of government and the community is expected to make the 151st Cozumel Carnival a safe and memorable event for all.
