Playa del Carmen, Mexico — An elderly woman was attacked by a dog roaming the street in the Santa Fe neighborhood. The animal bit her hand, causing a deep wound, prompting her to flee and seek help to be transported to the hospital.
The incident occurred at Montes Azules Avenue and Fuentes del Quijote Street, when the approximately 62-year-old woman was walking in that area and suddenly a Pitbull breed dog, which was wandering around that zone, attacked her.
The woman, to protect herself, put her hand out, and the dog bit her fingers, causing a serious injury. She managed to escape and asked her family for help, who immediately called an ambulance through the emergency number 911.
Paramedics transported the woman after providing first aid to the IMSS Bienestar hospital for medical attention, as the bite was primarily on her fingers.
Nothing is known about the dog’s owners, as it was outside its home, and although neighbors were asked, no one recognized whose pet it was.
