Yucatán, Mexico — The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that, in coordination with municipal authorities, Civil Protection personnel, family members, and neighbors, an elderly man who had been reported missing in the municipality of Tahdziú was located alive.
Upon learning of the case, a search operation was immediately implemented to locate Mr. Luis Montejo Naal, 76 years old, who had been reported as missing since December 11. SSP elements, municipal authorities, and volunteers participated in the efforts, conducting patrols along dirt roads toward the municipal landfill, plots of land, adjacent properties, and other sites that the elderly man frequented.
As part of the actions, drone overflights were also carried out to expand the search area and review difficult-to-access zones in the municipality’s woodlands.
As a result of these coordinated efforts, the elderly man was located in the woodlands of Tahdziú, where he received initial attention from SSP personnel. At the time of his location, he showed signs of dehydration and minor knee injuries, so he was transported in a corporation ambulance to a hospital for medical evaluation.
The SSP acknowledged the effort of operational personnel, municipal authorities, and Civil Protection, as well as the collaboration of family members and local residents, whose participation was fundamental in achieving the location of the elderly man.
