Mérida, Yucatán — The Attorney General's Office (FGR) has dealt a significant blow to the regional narcotics trafficking structure with the arrest of Rolando C., alias "El Timot," identified as the leader of a criminal cell dedicated to drug distribution with a presence in Yucatán, Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Tabasco.

The capture of "El Timot" was finalized during a simultaneous operation involving search warrants at three properties, two located in the municipality of Timucuy and one in Tecoh. It was in a safe house in Timucuy where federal forces managed to secure the capo.

Rolando C., who had been named commander of a criminal group, established himself in Yucatán in 2008, using the state as an operations center for trafficking narcotics to neighboring entities. Despite having temporarily abandoned the state, he remained active in coordinating the distribution of drugs from this regional base.

In the searched properties, federal authorities seized an arsenal that includes firearms for the exclusive use of the military, as well as a large quantity of various drugs, including cocaine, marijuana, and crystal meth. Furthermore, items and precursors used for the preparation and packaging of the narcotics were secured.

The detainee, along with the seized weapons and drugs, has been placed at the disposal of the competent authorities. It is expected that in the coming hours, Rolando C., alias "El Timot," will be presented before a federal judge to determine his legal status.
