Two Women Found Dead in Playa del Carmen Home

Crime scene at Villamar I residence in Playa del Carmen where two women were murdered

Playa del Carmen, MX – Two women were found murdered during the early hours of Saturday in a home in the Villamar I subdivision in Playa del Carmen, in an incident surrounded by inconsistencies in the authorities’ actions.

According to preliminary information, the bodies were discovered around 3:00 a.m. inside a house located on Mar Rojo street, near Playa del Carmen Avenue. Both victims showed signs of violence, and at least one had a gunshot wound.

Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office went to the residence to carry out initial procedures. Upon entering, they located the two women lying face down with bloodied clothing. However, after concluding the initial procedures, the agents left without cordoning off the site, despite it being a double homicide scene.

Unusually, no neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and the Municipal Police did not go to the location, allegedly because no 911 call was ever received, although the Attorney General’s Office was informed and attended to the case.

Hours later, around 10:00 a.m., a neighbor entered the house and found blood stains and the interior in disarray. After reporting an alleged fight to emergency services, municipal agents arrived and confirmed that it was the same site where the State Attorney General’s Office had removed two bodies hours earlier. At that moment, the house was finally secured.

The Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation file and is pursuing several lines of inquiry to clarify the case, not ruling out that it may be related to criminal activities or that it is a double femicide. Neighbors indicated that the property was known for the clandestine sale of beer.
