In the La Amistad neighborhood of Cancún, two individuals were found dead earlier this afternoon. The authorities were alerted to the incident at around 12:30 PM following reports of gunshots near Gas Auto avenue.

Upon receiving the report, the Municipal Police and an ambulance from the Mexican Red Cross were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found two individuals with gunshot wounds. Despite immediate attempts at providing first aid, paramedics confirmed that both victims had succumbed to their injuries.

Preliminary reports suggest that the incident began when a woman visited the home of her ex-partner, accompanied by her current partner. This led to a heated argument between the two men. During the altercation, one of the men produced a firearm and shot the other. The shooter then retreated into his home and turned the gun on himself.

Following the incident, agents from the Ministerial Police were called to the scene to begin an investigation. Forensic specialists were also brought in to manage the recovery of the bodies.

The woman, who was present during the incident, was treated for a nervous breakdown caused by the traumatic event.
