Dog Triggers Highway Rollover in Tulum, Two Injured

TULUM, MX. — A traffic accident recorded this Monday on the Tulum–Cobá highway, near Cenote Atik, left a woman and her minor daughter injured after the SUV they were traveling in overturned off the asphalt.

According to initial reports, the driver attempted to avoid a dog that suddenly crossed the road, causing her to lose control of the steering wheel. The vehicle left the roadway and ended up overturned in the brush.

Neighbors from the area and emergency crews went to the site and worked together to free the occupants of the vehicle. Subsequently, both were taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.

Although the incident generated moments of tension due to the condition of the vehicle, it was reported that both people survived the accident.
