Tulum, Quintana Roo — Municipal President Diego Castañón Trejo has initiated a paving project in the Colonia Ejido neighborhood, emphasizing the importance of direct community engagement. "Less desk work and more fieldwork is what we need to identify needs and deliver results—it’s our obligation," Castañón stated during the groundbreaking ceremony.

Infrastructure Improvements for Safer Transit

The project will cover 800 linear meters of road, benefiting approximately 33,000 residents. Once completed, the improvements will enhance traffic safety and efficiency while upgrading service accessibility for the area’s inhabitants.

Castañón highlighted the role of citizen input, noting, "We’ve visited Colonia Ejido repeatedly, and neighbors consistently requested this project. We’ll ensure it meets all necessary standards, and we’ll return with more benefits for the community. That’s why we remain committed to fieldwork—listening to you."

Oversight and Next Steps

Christian Moguel, Director of Construction Oversight, confirmed the start of preparatory work, including descaling and leveling, to meet project timelines. Collaboration with the municipal comptroller’s office will ensure quality compliance, aligning the project with residents' expectations.

The Tulum government reaffirmed its dedication to tangible infrastructure upgrades, framing the Colonia Ejido project as a step toward broader community development.
