Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The body of a man in an advanced state of decomposition was located on Friday afternoon within a vegetation area in the Aviación neighborhood, after residents reported an intense foul odor in the surroundings of the intersection of Aviación and 45 Avenues.
Police officers arrived at the site after receiving the report and found the corpse lying face down among the vegetation, in the conditions already mentioned.
Due to the deterioration of the body, it was not immediately possible to determine if it showed signs of violence or injuries from a firearm.
Forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office conducted the removal of the corpse and transported it to the Forensic Medical Service, where the legal autopsy will be performed to establish the cause of death and official identification.
