CANCÚN, QR. — The State Attorney General’s Office reported that, after more than 19 hours of hearing, a Control Judge issued an order to formally charge José Isidro “N”, leader of the CTM Quintana Roo, for his probable participation in events possibly constituting the crime of qualified homicide, which occurred on July 17, 2018, in this municipality.
Likewise, the judicial authority imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for two years, or the duration of the process.
The arrest warrant that originated this procedure was executed by elements of the Investigation Police, assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Homicide, when the leader of the CTM Quintana Roo was about to enter a hearing at the Federal Judicial Power headquarters, in Supermanzana 50, for a federal criminal process he faces for the crime of human trafficking, in its modality of prostitution of others, initiated in 2019 and for which he remained detained for more than three years.
According to the investigations, the homicide for which the leader of the CTM Quintana Roo is now being prosecuted is related to the accusation he made against the victim, whom he allegedly held responsible for a theft of money, jewelry, and high-end watches, which occurred within the union offices he headed.
Following the judicial resolution, the leader of the CTM Quintana Roo remained under the imposed precautionary measure and at the disposal of the Control Judge, while the corresponding procedural stages continue.
The State Attorney General’s Office reaffirms its commitment to act in strict adherence to the Law, without distinction of persons or positions, and to maintain the policy of zero impunity to bring before justice those who participate in the commission of a crime.
