Chetumal, Quintana Roo – A murder in Felipe Carrillo Puerto has once again exposed how personal conflicts within organized crime end in extreme violence. The victim was Michelle Yasuri, who was executed by gunfire in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, in an incident that authorities have already classified as a crime of passion occurring within the structure of the Caborca Cartel, an organization with a presence in southern Quintana Roo.
The state attorney general, Raciel López Salazar, confirmed the arrest of Laura del Rocío “N”, 26, identified as a priority target of the Criminal Atlas. According to the investigation, the young woman ordered Michelle’s death after discovering an extramarital relationship between the victim and her partner, Manuel “N”, alias “El Galindo”. The instruction was to recover the cell phone where there would be evidence of the infidelity and to kill her if she resisted.
The execution was carried out with direct violence. Two hitmen arrived on a motorcycle at Michelle’s home and shot her at least nine times with a 9-millimeter caliber weapon, leaving her dead inside her residence. The attack, according to authorities, was planned and executed quickly, confirming the use of the criminal structure to carry out a personal revenge.
The investigations also reveal that Laura del Rocío was not only the romantic partner of “El Galindo”, the regional leader of the cartel, murdered in August of last year, but was also in charge of collecting money from drug sales points. After her capture in Chetumal, a judge imposed preventive detention on her. The case once again shows how organized crime mixes power, jealousy, and territorial control, generating high-impact events that directly affect the population.
