Cozumel, Mexico — The Cozumel Hotel Association is working to strengthen tourist arrivals from Canada by participating in the Mexican Caribbean Roadshow in that country. The objective is to attract more visitors during the winter season by highlighting the island's natural and cultural wealth, its beaches with low sargassum presence, and its positioning as a diving mecca.

Promoting the Island's Offerings

Since August 25, the Cozumel Hotel Association has been present at the event, which includes visits to the cities of Laval, Ottawa, Waterloo, and Woodbridge. The association is presenting the destination's latest developments, its current hotel offerings, and their amenities as part of a promotional campaign to attract a greater number of tourists to the island of Cozumel.

Presentations have also been made on the natural and cultural richness of Cozumel, now designated as a "Pueblo Mágico," and its aquatic activities. Snorkeling and the destination's flagship product for decades, diving, have been highlighted as the main activities on the island, which is considered a diving mecca due to the beauty of its 34 reefs and "El Cielo."

Isela Valenzuela Jiménez, Manager of the Cozumel Hotel Association, has been responsible for presenting these advantages to the more than 100 Canadian travel agents attending the event. The event showcases the advantages of visiting destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, especially the island of Cozumel, which is noted for the minimal presence of sargassum on its public and private beaches.

Forging Commercial Alliances and Air Connectivity

Through participation in the Roadshow, the aim is to generate commercial alliances and promote greater air connectivity by adding flights or increasing routes. This effort is intended to attract more visitors who take advantage of the island's climate for vacations during the winter season on an island known for its excellent hospitality and service.

It is worth mentioning that Cozumel has two direct seasonal flights from Montreal and Toronto. These flights begin in October and November, respectively, and will run through the end of the winter season.
