Cozumel Cruise Season Kicks Off with Busy January Schedule

Cruise ships arriving at Cozumel port in January 2026

Cozumel, Mexico — The first full week of January 2026 is shaping up to be a period of high tourist activity in Cozumel, with the scheduled arrival of international cruise ships that will boost economic revenue and movement in the island’s service sector.

According to information released by the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (APIQROO), a continuous schedule of arrivals is planned from January 5 to 11, representing a key week for tourism service providers, businesses, transportation operators, and local guides.

The arrival of cruise ships during these first days of the year typically sets the pace for the winter high season, a period during which Cozumel receives thousands of visitors who engage in activities such as tours, shopping, dining at restaurants, and booking maritime and land tours.

APIQROO reminded that arrival times are subject to change, depending on weather and operational conditions, so it recommends that involved sectors stay alert to official updates.

The port authority called for maintaining quality and warmth in service, one of the destination’s main distinguishing features, at a time when the flow of international visitors represents a direct opportunity to strengthen the island’s economy at the start of the year.

Cozumel continues to position itself as one of the most important cruise ports in the Mexican Caribbean, with a schedule that anticipates days of high activity for those who depend on maritime tourism.
