Two women rescued from human trafficking in Cancún operation

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The State Attorney General’s Office reported that during a joint operation with the Navy Secretariat and the National Guard, two women victims of human trafficking were rescued from a property located in Supermanzana 89, near Tulum Avenue.

The victims, one of Dominican nationality and another Mexican, were located after the execution of a search warrant authorized by a Control Judge.

During the intervention, authorities detained Antonia “N” and Gamaliel “N”. Both were identified as the alleged operators of the location and controllers of the women’s activities.

Human Trafficking in Cancún: Initial Investigations

According to initial information gathered, the two women had been hired as waitresses and hostesses, but were later coerced into performing sexual acts with clients in exchange for fees of 500 pesos.

The detained woman allegedly managed the payments and distributed condoms, while both administrators benefited economically, even charging extra amounts for room usage.

Evidence Found at the Property

During the search, authorities secured notebooks, cell phones, a payment terminal, and other objects that now form part of the investigation file. The property was secured by authorities.

The victims were transferred to the Attorney General’s Office to receive comprehensive care, while the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Human Trafficking Crimes.
