Cancún, Mexico — Costa Mujeres will add 160 new hotel rooms and 80 private residences with the opening of The St. Regis Resort by Marriott International, further consolidating the destination as a reference point for luxury tourism and leading the preferences of travelers seeking five-star accommodations.
Data from the hotel company, considered one of the largest in the industry with over 30 brands including The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, and Courtyard, operating in nearly 140 countries, shows continued investment in the Mexican Caribbean with this resort on the continental mass of the island.
Furthermore, Marriott International plans several openings in other destinations for 2026, indicating strong expansion plans for the coming year to remain a reference in luxury, wellness, and all-inclusive tourism.
Regarding the opening in the Mexican Caribbean, The St. Regis Costa Mujeres will begin operations next year, generating employment and economic spillover for the region. The hotel will have 160 rooms and 8 luxury residences with high-standard service.
With this, Costa Mujeres continues to increase its number of rooms, most targeting the luxury segment, maintaining not only the highest rates but also optimal occupancy levels year-round, which continues to drive investment flow in the hotel sector.
