Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A construction worker died on Thursday afternoon after falling more than five meters while working on a dome at a primary school in the Uh May community.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. at the “18 de Marzo” primary school, prompting the arrival of Red Cross paramedics and municipal police officers.
According to initial reports, the worker was performing tasks on the upper part of the dome when he apparently lost his balance and fell onto the school’s sports court.
Witnesses urgently called for paramedic assistance, but responders could do nothing as the man had already died at the scene.
Municipal police officers cordoned off the area, after which personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office began the corresponding investigation procedures.
Authorities transported the body to the Forensic Medical Service facilities, where it will await release to family members in the coming days.
