Tulum, Mexico — A Colombian couple was shot to death inside a residence located in the "Carlos Joaquín" squatter settlement in the municipality of Tulum, by assailants who managed to flee the scene.
According to initial reports, at midnight on Tuesday, neighbors alerted authorities to multiple gunshots at a house situated on Juan Ek Street, between Satélite and Escorpión streets.
Personnel from the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) and paramedics arrived at the location and confirmed that the two individuals no showed no vital signs.
The area was secured to allow for the procedures of personnel from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), who were responsible for collecting evidence left at the crime scene.
Upon concluding their work, forensic criminalists transported the two bodies to the Medical Forensic Service (Semefo). There is no information available regarding the assailants.
