Stable Weather Forecast for Quintana Roo This Weekend

Weather map showing Cold Front 26 and high-pressure system affecting Quintana Roo

CANCÚN, QR. While the main effects of Cold Front 26 remain over northern Mexican states, the southeastern part of the country experiences greater atmospheric stability. In Quintana Roo, a high-pressure system located over the Gulf of Mexico continues to push northeast winds toward the Yucatán Peninsula, favoring partly cloudy skies and low probability of rain during this Saturday.

According to the meteorological forecast, although Cold Front 26 remains stationary in northern Tamaulipas, its direct effects do not reach Quintana Roo. The state is expected to have a hot environment during the day and mild to cool at dawn, with northeast winds and gusts of up to 30 kilometers per hour, mainly in coastal areas.

At the national level, Cold Front 26 generates isolated rains and strong wind gusts in northeastern states, while in the northwest of the country a new frontal system, in combination with the subtropical jet stream, maintains low temperatures and intense winds. In contrast, an anticyclonic circulation in the middle levels of the atmosphere favors stable weather without precipitation in much of the territory, including the southeast.

General Outlook in Quintana Roo

For Quintana Roo, the influence of the high-pressure system will allow mostly stable conditions throughout the day, with partly cloudy skies and isolated rains. Maximum temperatures will range between 28 and 31 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures at dawn will be between 13 and 21 degrees, with lower values in inland areas of the state.

Likewise, the presence of fog banks is expected in rural, urban areas and on highway sections, mainly during the early morning hours, so it is recommended to take extreme precautions when driving.
