Claudia Sheinbaum has announced that she is considering integrating the passenger and freight train systems in the upcoming term. She also raised the possibility of extending the rail route to Puerto Progreso, Yucatan.
During a tour of Campeche and Yucatan, alongside President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Sheinbaum expressed interest in understanding more about the Mayan Train operation and its potential expansion. The need to secure funding to continue this project was also discussed.
Sheinbaum revealed that there are still decisions to be made regarding her future cabinet, but did not disclose any specifics about the roles. When questioned about her potential residence in the National Palace, she stated that she is weighing the benefits of living there, but has yet to make a final decision.
