Cancún’s Christmas Villages Open at Tajamar Boardwalk

Governor Mara Lezama inaugurating Christmas Villages at Tajamar Boardwalk in Cancún

Cancún – In a festive atmosphere with hundreds of people, primarily children, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa inaugurated the Christmas Villages at Tajamar Boardwalk for the enjoyment and wholesome recreation of local families, visitors, and tourists.

“We must carry love, we must be the best version of ourselves. And this is a perfect time to smooth out those rough edges and heal those wounds. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas,” expressed Mara Lezama, inviting everyone to enjoy the attractions installed in coordination between the State Government and the Benito Juárez City Council.

From today until January 6, everyone can explore the 12 Christmas villages with activities for children, ride the free train, use the synthetic ice rink, walk through the entrepreneurs’ and gastronomic stands, and sample esquites, tacos, breads, frappes, churros, cakes, quesadillas, and much more.

Additionally, there is a spectacular, well-lit Ferris wheel, a Christmas tree, a fair, a photo backdrop, and artistic and cultural performances.

The Villa Cancún Dulce Navidad will be open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

“The point is to build community, for the grandmother, the grandfather, the friend to come. What do we want? For them to have a Merry Christmas, but it’s worth it if we do it as a family,” added Mara Lezama, who was accompanied by the honorary president of the Quintana Roo DIF System, Verónica Lezama Espinosa.

The authorities set an example by walking through the Christmas Village, where they enjoyed the artificial snow that filled the festive space.

Ricardo Archundia, director of FOATQROO, was among those present at the podium.
