This year’s event will be held under the theme of unity and transformation.

With a program that combines international shows, national talent, and local cultural expressions, the carnival aims to strengthen regional identity and position Chetumal as a cultural and tourist reference point for the Mexican Caribbean.

Over a Century of History and Cultural Tradition

The Chetumal Carnival has its roots in 1912 and has been distinguished by its satirical comparsas, which over time have portrayed social and political events with humor and creativity. This centennial tradition remains active and represents one of the most important cultural heritages in southern Quintana Roo.

State authorities indicated that the event consolidates itself as an engine for cultural and economic reactivation, especially for the southern region of the state.
