Candidates for the Throne and Thematic Proposals

The aspirants to the throne of Carnival Cozumel 2026 took the stage with proposals based on different cultures and stories. The first to present was Jairo, with a show inspired by the Mayan god Kukulkan, emphasizing identity and tradition as part of the carnival.

Candidate Jade appeared with the theme “The Guardian,” accompanied by an atmosphere of mysticism and music to the rhythm of “Reina iguana.”

Subsequently, candidate Pepe Rosado presented as “Naga,” the reptilian god of India, with a stage structure that included a large mobile cobra on his back.

Candidate Jojo Ramírez revived Cleopatra, the last pharaoh of ancient Egypt, while Josselyn Luna interpreted “The Coconut Palm” with Caribbean dances evoking the island coast.

Candidate Eduardo Alcalá presented “The Prince of Birds,” walking through the aisle between tables and approaching the audience, generating ovations among attendees, according to the official bulletin.

Closing with Tribute and Live Music

One of the most memorable moments was the farewell of the 2025 Carnival Empress, Armonía Valasis Meymaris, known as “La Maestra Tepy,” who presented a tribute to the 1964 musical “Hello Dolly,” with red-toned costumes and participation of former kings and queens.

The night closed with the participation of the jarocho group Alma Libre, whose music and covers led attendees to the dance floor, in a day that combined tradition, spectacle, and preparation for Carnival Cozumel 2026.
