Cancún, Mexico — The Benito Juárez City Council, in coordination with the Institute of Culture and Arts of Quintana Roo, invites Cancún residents and visitors to enjoy the Caribbean Maya Book Fair 2025, which will open its doors from November 27 to 29, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Plaza de la Reforma Esplanade of the Municipal Palace.

This edition is designed to foster dialogue and give visibility to the multiple expressions that make up the literary identity of the Caribbean Maya, so it will feature an extensive program.

Among the activities, the State Meeting of Women Writers stands out, which recognizes the work of Quintana Roo authors and promotes collaboration networks, as well as the 3rd Meeting of Reading Room Mediators, aimed at strengthening the state network for reading promotion.

The books and events will be open to the entire public. During these days, works by authors such as Mireya Tun Batún, Lil Fernández Osorio, Agustín Labrada, Miguel Meza, and David Ortiz will be presented, in addition to the keynote conference “The Caribbean as a Literary Territory,” with the participation of Mauro Barea, Nicolás Durán, and Agustín Labrada.

Within this same framework, formative workshops will be included, taught by creators such as Ori, focused on the art of origami, and Daniela Armijo, dedicated to literary creativity processes. Meanwhile, for children and youth, the fair will offer storytelling, drawing activities, and book presentations that seek to bring the reading experience through imagination.
