Quintana Roo, Mexico — Caribbean and regional culture takes center stage in Quintana Roo with the start of the Caribbean Culture Festival, a major event organized by the Secretary of Culture and the Institute of Culture and Arts (ICA) that will take place from November 26 to 30 with free admission for all the public.
This year, the edition has Cuba as the Guest Country of Honor, enriching the programming with concerts, exhibitions, and academic meetings that celebrate the vast cultural diversity of the region.
Inaugural Event: Tribute to the UN and Opening (Tuesday, November 26)
The festival kicks off in Puerto Morelos with an art and global awareness event:
- Exhibition “The World in a Poster”: Celebrating the 80 years of the UN. It will highlight the winner from Quintana Roo, Renata Bonilla.
Date: Tuesday, November 26.
Time: 18:00 hours.
Location: Cultural Center and Museum of Puerto Morelos.
Great Caribbean Maya Book Fair (November 27-29)
Cancún will become the epicenter of literature with the Caribbean Maya Book Fair, a space for the meeting of authors, publishers, and readers:
Venue: Reforma Plaza, Municipal Palace of Cancún, Benito Juárez.
Wednesday, November 27 and Thursday, November 28: From 10:00 to 13:00 h and from 15:00 to 20:00 h.
Friday, November 29: From 10:00 to 18:00 h.
Night of Stellar Concerts in Tulum (Saturday, November 29)
The municipality of Tulum will vibrate with live music and cultural activities that fuse the local and international:
Location: Esplanade of the Municipal Palace of Tulum and Beach of the Town.

- 16:00 h: Sale of Handicrafts.
- 17:00 h: Reading Between Waves.
- Concerts (Esplanade):

Regional Encounters: Reading and Tradition (November 29 and 30)
Two fundamental events seek to strengthen the roots and cultural promotion in the state:
- Meeting of Reading Promoters: It will include conferences, workshops, and conversations, including the special participation of Vivianne Thirion.
Location: House of Culture of Cancún.
Hours: Saturday, November 29 (12:30 to 19:30 h) and Sunday, November 30 (9:30 to 16:30 h).
- Regional Meeting of Jaraneros: A tribute to the dance and musical tradition of the region.
Location: House of Culture Kantunilkin, Lázaro Cárdenas.
Hours: Friday, November 29 (10:30 to 14:00 h and 16:00 to 20:00 h) and Saturday, November 30 (9:00 to 14:00 h and 15:00 to 21:00 h).
The Caribbean Culture Festival is a free-entry event for all the public and represents a crucial platform for cultural exchange between the countries of the Greater Caribbean and the local artistic expressions of Quintana Roo.
